Go go boots, sequinned dresses, and gold chains adorned the stage at this year’s 70’s themed Acapella Revue. The music ranged from 70’s funk/disco to epic rock ballads. The shows were held on May 31 at 8 pm and June 1 at 8 pm, and June 2 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.
The students sang and performed an array of songs from the era including Boogie Wonderland, Groove, Sir Duke, and You are the Sunshine of My Life.
The rehearsal schedule was demanding as it was every day for an entire week before the show, but senior Kyle Dalton believes that all the hard work paid off once they got to perform.
“Joe Piazza has seriously outdone himself. This year’s revue was one of Piedmont’s best without a doubt,” Dalton said.
Some special dance moves featured in the show were the John Travolta, the Leeroy, the Flasher, and the Jazz Square, he said.
Senior Leland Howard said, “We got gold chains, we got booty bumps.”
