IMG_5002On Wednesday November 13, a signing and celebration was held in the library for students who are committing to colleges for sports.

Seniors Colleen McNulty, Lauren Sereynian, Katie Hubert, and JoNae Gonzales signed a document in order to show their commitment to their college.

The three athletes were recruited by their schools for the sport that they play, and are offered scholarships to those schools.

McNulty will be going to Miami University (Ohio) for volleyball, Hubert will be going to USC for crew, Sereynian will be going to UC Davis for basketball, and Gonzales will be going to Sonoma State for basketball.

“I’m really proud and excited that all my hard work paid off,” Hubert said.

Friends and family of the athletes were present to support the athletes while they signed to their school. The athletes and their coaches made brief speeches about each other and about the schools that they signed to.

“It will be nice for the girls to have an automatic group of people that they can connect with,” athletic director Megan Hernandez said.

Hernandez said that it is an important transition for the girls to go through.
