Seniors honored at annual awards night

On Wednesday, May 27, Senior Award Night was held in the PMS Multipurpose Room at 7 p.m.

The ceremony is meant to honor and reward high achieving seniors in multiple areas of talent. Teachers from each department were there to hand out awards to students.

Principal Brent Daniels began the event by acknowledging all of the hard work that seniors put into achieving the honorable.

Awards consisted of trophies, plaques and certificates.

DSC03802Each teacher gave a short speech describing the honored student and why they were receiving the award.

Daniels invited Hartford and English to present the final awards. Salutatorian was awarded to both seniors Will Thacher and Thomas Horn, who tied with the exact same GPA.

English presented the final award for valedictorian to senior Kevin Shum.

“I really appreciate this class’s kindness and many talents,” Daniels said. “But the core values that they hold are around making PHS one of the most outstanding schools in the nation.”

Daniels concluded event by requesting that the graduating seniors take care of themselves, love their families and strive to make the world a better place.

“I will always remember the class of 2015,” Daniels said.
