As of Jan. 27th, Naviance has been updated, requiring students to change their passwords in order to log in.
This concerns mainly upperclassmen, since they are the only grades who currently have accounts set up.
“If your password doesn’t meet the requirements, you are going to have to reset it,” College Counselor Gwenly Carrel said. “It must be at least ten characters in length, the username can’t be part of the password, and it can’t have more than two identical characters in a row.”
Carrel said that this will affect all students whose current login information doesn’t match the new standard, even seniors.
Carrel said that in order to get their diplomas and have their final transcript sent to their schools, all seniors must complete the senior exit survey on Naviance.
Carrel said that she is trying to implement Naviance more and more so it can be as useful as possible,.
Former PHS student Will Kambalch said that some students use Naviance to see where they match up in comparison with former students who applied to the same schools Kalmbach said.
“It’s only as accurate as the information that you put into it, so that’s part of really making Naviance really accurate and beneficial to us,” Carrel said.
In the coming weeks Carrel will be going into the tenth grade Modern World History classes, and will be setting the students up with their Naviance accounts, making sure they all log in, and showing them how the website works.
“It’s such a great and resourceful tool,” Carrel said.
