The Semester 1 World Language competition has ended here are the winners for each period:
Period 1, French 2
Period 2, AP Spanish
Period 3, AP French
Period 4, Chinese 3
Period 5, Honors Mandrin 4
Period 6, AP Spanish
Period 7, Spanish 4 Honors
“I thought it was really cool. All the performers did a great job,” said eighth grader Quinton Cole. Next semester, middle schoolers like him will be able to participate in the competition. “I’m excited for that, hopefully we’ll do well,” Cole said.
High School students had different emotions.
“I’m not feeling too good,” said Honors Spanish student and junior Ravi Silverberg, “Our group did a great job with the song and I’m disappointed we didn’t come away with the win.”
Silverberg wasn’t the only one expecting to win. Sophomore Madeline Tran from Chinese 4 Honors entered the competition confident that her class would win.
“We went into the competition expecting to win. In the past other classes haven’t put in as much effort as we have. We have a variety of instruments and someone who does dancing outside of school,” Tran said.
