Bay Area rock band The Phenomenauts will perform at Spring Dance on Saturday, March 30 in the PHS gym. The Phenomenauts, who dress in futuristic science fiction attire and dub their style “Rocket Roll”, will headline the space-themed dance.
“Their music combined with their antics and thousands of different props that nobody expects make them awesome” Junior Class President Cole Becker said. “They follow the theme the whole time they play. They never break character.”
Becker saw the group perform for the first time in 2010 and said he came out from the show with “the greatest feeling ever.”
Becker describes their music as “100 percent rock and roll plus another 50 percent Neal deGrasse Tyson [American astro-physicist]”. Some of their most popular songs are “Mission”, “Make a Circuit”, and “Tiny Robots”.
Another odd fact: The Phenomenauts all live together in a commune that they call “The Command Center”.
Tickets will be sold through Wednesday, March 27 in the Quad for $20. ASB will also notify all presale ticket holders by Tuesday, March 19 in class.
On Friday, March 15, ASB revealed the theme of Spring Dance and released a promotional video. Check it out here:
