Sophomores Hunter Abel and Danielle Foreman won the annual arm wrestling competition put on by the biology teachers Shelley Seto and Andrew Willats.
“Winning felt good and it made me feel accomplished,” Abel said. “I’ve been going to the weight room a lot and I think that really helped.”
The teachers held this competition because biology students are currently learning about muscle contractions and other aspects of anatomy.
“We do this every year because it is fun and helps the students get excited about learning,” Seto said.
After beating four contestants in the playoffs, Abel faced sophomore Louis Karsa in the championship and beat him in a matter of seconds.
