Tomorrow at 12:45 in Binks Gymnasium, Olympic medalists Heather Petri and Brenda Villa will speak to young women in Piedmont about staying active and continuing in sports throughout life.

“We want to celebrate girls being active and staying active for their lifetime. We want to encourage them to find their passion and to enjoy it with their family and their friends,” said Co-Athletic Director of PHS Megan Hernandez.

Hernandez encourages girls in middle school or high school to attend and meet these exceptional athletes.

Petri and Villa are four-time Olympic medalists and water polo players. Both are from the Bay Area and attended college locally—Petri at UC Berkeley and Villa at Stanford. Petri is also a three-time world champion, and Villa is a two-time world champion.

The event is open to all young women and a pizza lunch will be provided.
