The course selection window for the 2026-27 school year opens on December 8, 2025, and closes on January 12, 2026. To support PHS students in selecting courses that honor their interests, time constraints, and academic abilities, TPH has compiled its annual Course Selection Guide. The guide functions as a calculator that allows students to enter their intended courses and athletic and extracurricular commitments to receive recommendations from over 40 current PHS students. The calculator provides estimates of the number of hours of sleep and free time students will have with their selected courses and noted extracurriculars, helping them make informed decisions about their course selections. As questions about taking weighted classes rise, especially amid concerns about pressure and overexertion, the guide serves as a snapshot of students’ workload before it begins. The guide includes classes from core English and science classes to electives like Ceramics and Film as Literature, allowing students of all grades and levels to gain a better understanding of how their days will look under a new course load.
Data on this site was collected by TPH staff. Results represent days when you have work in every class, which won’t be every day. Data is based on subjective student experiences, and recommendations are for informational purposes only. Some features were developed using artificial intelligence. Consider your own needs carefully.
