What are your hopes for the team this year and after?
“My goal is to try and help players already on the team to improve, and to also get more people to try out for the team,” junior Johnny Phmah said.
“I hope that we can perform well in WACC [West Alameda County Conference] and hopefully we get some new teammates next year,” senior Walden Pan said.

What is an aspect of your sport that you enjoy but that people might not know about?
“I really enjoy that it’s co-ed. Even though there are still some grade and gender boundaries, it gives me a chance to play with my friends on the same team. At the same time, I’ve been able to challenge myself by competing against a variety of players, which makes matches more fun,” senior Mandy Tang said.
Swimming

What are your hopes for the team this year and after?
“My hopes for the team is to continue to build a strong community and make sure everyone feels included,”
senior Samantha White said.
What is an aspect of your sport that you enjoy but that people might not know about?
“I always find it funny when practice is starting and the coaches are yelling at you to hop in,” junior Asher Takazawa said.
“I really enjoy after a really hard workout when you feel really proud and accomplished of yourself,” junior Cole Carnazzo said.
What have you learned from previous team captains that you want to bring to the team?
“I’ve learned to be welcoming to everyone and include everyone in team activities and traditions,” senior Brooke Patchen said.
Track and Field — Distance

What have you learned from previous team captains that you want to bring to the team?
“I think that a lot of our captains have gotten the structure down, which means having good habits when it comes to our warmups, when we go through our workout, our cooldown, and really ensure top performance while also not skipping stuff,” senior Noah Sohn said.
“I have learned how to bring people together and make the new freshmen feel welcome, and how to lead the warm-ups properly and just keep people accountable,”senior Skylar Best said.
What are you most excited about for this season?
“I am most excited for running the 4×8 at NCS and continuning to be a part of that relay. I just think it’s really fun,” senior Skylar Best said.
Softball

What are you most excited about for this season?
“I’m really excited to go to WACC [West Alameda County Conference] and hopefully win a couple of games, maybe even win WACC,” sophomore Hannah Joerger said.
What are your hopes for the team this year and after?
“I just want us to keep getting better and improving, we’re a young team now so I just want us to keep getting more experience, more hours on the field, and more wins,” sophomore Hannah Joerger said.
What is an aspect of your sport that you enjoy but that people might not know about?
“I really enjoy pitching during practice with my teammates. I think that’s where you get most of your work done,” sophomore Edie Elmquist said.
